A Wonderful Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and we kicked it off with the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade...maybe one day I can see it in person! It was SO fun that Zeke and Hannah Belle enjoyed it, too! Hannah Belle was clapping and bouncing to all the music and Zeke sang into his microphone every chance he got, not to mention did a little high-kicking with the Rockettes. HA! All of the Ashmore clan came together and there were lots of great-grands roaming around...it was an entertaining day to say the least.

Just about everyone got to talk to Aunt Alissa (who's in Uganda)

normal day stuff

Just some pictures, nothing fancy...

Hannah appears happy to be in her bed, but don't let her fool you! She knew mom was there to rescue her from naptime and had a camera to top it all off! The girl knows how to pose.

Zeke's constricting attempt to put his pants back on

Zeke trying to put the leaf back onto the tree

DISCLAIMER: This last one is not in any way a depiction of a "normal day", but makes
my heart smile anyway.

Mayflower Mayhem

Ok, ok...so I am still fixing my eyes on the Macy's Day Parade instead of finding a way to string up outdoor lights without an outdoor plug, but evidently We the People haven't COMPLETED forgotten the Mayflower and Tom the Turkey. I went to the holiday section of the library to get some Thanksgiving books for the Zekester and Hannah and what do you know, they were all gone! There were plenty of Christmas books, but fear not, I did not give in! I did however give in to the half off Hobby Lobby Christmas extravaganza. This humbug is a softy.

Where are you Thanksgiving?

Just ranting a little bit, but....COME ON where in the world did Thanksgiving go? How on earth did it get pushed to the compost pile!! Whew! I feel myself gettin' worked up! I will not fuss often on our blog, but today I broke. God bless the Salvation Army and all the Bell Ringers out there, but shouldn't they atleast say "Happy Thanksgiving" since it is NOVEMBER 17TH. As we left the craft store the kind man said "Merry Christmas" and I don't know if it was the 10 minute wait in line with two crying kids only to find Zeke dropped the one item we went there for back on isle 47 or what, but the bah-humbug spirit rose up and I just wanted to yell out "And a Happy Thanksgiving to you BUSTER!" Just kidding, I wasn't THAT grumpy, can't you tell?

Happy Fall!!

We had a SUPER fun-fall-festivity filled weekend just before November swept us away and just wanted to share some of the fun. We took Hannah to Sky Top for the first time, but alas, there were no apples left in the trees. My beautiful and fun cousin Katharine Anne turned 18! I just can't believe my girl is getting so old! I'm beginning to understand why all our parents say "They just grow up so fast!"

Oh no! We drove all the way up here...you're getting measured buddy, tears or not!

He's pulling his buddy Mickey the Mouse in that apple basket.

What do you mean there are no apples on the apple trees?

He's reassuring us that there ARE apples.

First Zeke rings the bell...
...then Mickey takes a turn.

Killer boots Hannah!

My SPONTANEOUS (crazy) parents (mom's idea) suited up for the 25 minute convertible drive home in the 40 degree cold. Good one Ethel!

What else you got?!

It started out as two precious children watching cartoons together, until the eldest smacked the youngest with the pillow... a frequent happening around this house. But, well done Hannah Belle, you held your own! It's nice to see her giving him a dose of his own medicine!
